Week 111: Trust God or Go Stone Crazy

Trust God or Go Stone Crazy
O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? Matthew 14:31

• Frizzled brain. . .
• Scattered brain. . .
• Panfryed Nuts!

Okay, here are the choices: We can either put our faith in God to lead, guide, and protect; or we can go absolutely stone crazy with fear and worry. When we look at it that way, the only wise answer is to trust God. However, it’s not always easy to discern the godly path when bells of anxiety are smashing and banging in our heads.

The way to stop the bells is to first recognize that they are ringing.

Sometimes the disruptive sound of confusion becomes the normal. The danger is—it drowns out God’s peaceful still voice. Do you know people who love the drama? Pandemonium seems to gravitate in their direction. They have lived in disarray for so long that peace seems suspicious and uncomfortable. It’s hard for them to understand that God does not want them worried and distressed. It’s easier for some people to combat the problem than it is for them to let go and rest in the confidence of God.

We have to let our “man-made” banisters go, and trust God to hold us up.

We must put our faith in the One Who can actually do something about the problem. God has a plan for our lives—one of peace not evil (Jeremiah 29:11).

We can relax in the peace of God, or go stone crazy. It’s our choice.

Week 110: Recycled Garbage

                                               Recycled Garbage
Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. Mark 5:34

• Decayed. . .
• Decomposed. . .
• Deteriorated. . .

Recycling your garbage for the sake of saving the planet’s resources is a good thing. However, when you recycle old hurting, depressing, disheartening thoughts from your past, the one’s you can’t do anything about, that’s a whole different story. Its strong stinky odor, should tell you—
                                    Don’t recycle that garbage—AGAIN!

Just the other day, I was in a down depressed mood. I couldn’t understand why. Then I figured out what the problem was; I was feeling down over something that I did thirty years ago. A ridiculous waste of time.

I already learned my lesson from it. So, why keep it hanging around in my mind? God let me know that it was an evil spirit trying to weigh me down, and keep me trapped.
It’s hard to make yourself do anything uplifting
when you lug around old past hurts.

We do it to ourselves when we allow our minds to recycle our old wrongdoings, errors, and faults. That type of rubbish will never be refurbished into anything good. We have to have enough faith to know that God has forgiven us, and move on.

It says in II Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

We can’t experience the new if we are shackled to old stinking garbage!
