Off Limits!
Be alert and on your

To know that worrying is not of God is
one thing, but to actually band it from your mind is something else. I know we
probably won’t ever completely rid ourselves of fearful worrisome thoughts.
However, there are ways to keep them in check. Let me share a new approach that
I’m testing out.
I told
the devil that there are certain subjects that he can’t talk to me about. They’re Off Limits! I know he’s not
going to “honor” my request without a fight. So I’m taking it to the extreme,
and so far it’s working fine.
All this started when God gave me a revelation.
He put into my spirit that there are three areas in my life where the enemy
knows I’m the most vulnerable for his torment and lies. These areas have an
iron clasp on my heart, and the enemy knows it. When I think about them, it
opens the door for him to dominate my thoughts. And before long, I’m in a
full-blown panic attack.
Therefore,
aside from the times when I have to take care of my responsibilities in those
areas, when I must think about them like: keeping appointments, making business
calls, or doing whatever God tells me to do; I won’t just sit around and idly
let the enemy control my thinking.
My Action Plan:
During my morning time with God, I
thank Him for taking care of these susceptible areas in my life. I do this in a
positive way of thanksgiving, not listing my fears and worries, begging and
crying. I quote scriptures that speak directly to those areas. I end the prayer
telling God that I release everything over to Him. Then I let God know that I’m
not going to think about my worries anymore that day. I have faith in
Him to take care of everything without my input. The good news is, I don’t have
to think and worry about my problems in order for God to work them out.
If I should start thinking about them,
good or bad thoughts, I immediately put my mind on something else. One of the
tricks of the enemy is to entice me in those areas with a pleasant thought, and
then sneak in one of his illegal suggestions. The best way for me to stop him
is to shut my mind completely down on those subjects; until he can’t use them
to intimidate me. God needs my faith in full strength, and to do that I have to
trust Him. He doesn’t need my fears.
