                                                    A Very Small Cloud

                                                                    When Jesus saw their faith…Mark 2:5

•  Little evidence. . .   

•  Slight evidence. . .

•  Microscopic evidence. . .

What is your faith working on right now? There should never be a time when you aren’t believing God for something. Don’t be discouraged if you can’t see any signs of it coming into being. Elijah prayed for rain after a three year drought in Israel. When he heard the rushing sound of rain in his spirit, he sent his servant, Ahab, up to see if there were any signs of rain. After the seventh visit up the mountain, Ahab reported seeing a cloud, the size of a man’s hand. That small cloud was enough for Elijah to prepare for rain. (I Kings 18:41-44) 

How BIG must our small clouds be before we believe?

The amount of confidence we place in our small clouds will prove the strength of our faith. Faith is the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1) 

It’s so important for us not to ignore the subtle signs that our faith is working. We should ask God to help us recognize these subtleties. Once He shows them to us, we got to hold on to them like the end results. We won’t be able to see these hints if our thoughts are jam-packed with negativity. Remember, it’s the devil’s job to con us out of what God is revealing.

Whose report will you believe?

Rejoicing over these understated clues is one way to give our faith the exercise that it needs. However, we can’t always put our hopes in physical signs, sometimes God’s Word is the only evidence that He’ll give us.

Just because I said so!

God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? (Numbers 23:19 NIV)

When we know our prayers are aligned with God’s will, and we are obedient to His Word, it’s time to move our faith onto another assignment because the one we just prayed for—DONE! 

ID your small clouds and prepare for a rainfall!

Week 150: As The World Crumbles. . .

As The World Crumbles. . .

However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth? Luke 18:8 (NIV)

• Jesus Christ is LORD!

• Jesus Christ is LORD!

• Jesus Christ is LORD!

As I write this week, there’s a lot of global turmoil taking place: a catastrophic earthquake in Italy, life-threatening winds whirling across the Atlantic Ocean, devastating floods in Louisiana, overwhelming wildfires in California, and harmful mosquitoes flying around in Florida; just to name a few things that I know about. Nevertheless— 

God has always been, and He will always be—in CONTROL!

Things might be crumbling all around us, but God is holding His people up with His righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10) We are believers; our job is to believe that God will take care of us. If we don’t have faith in God, we’ll go crazy. (See Week 111: Trust God or Go Stone Crazy.) We are just deceiving ourselves if we think we can successfully walk around on a crumbling world without God’s love, mercy, and grace. 

   

Of course we are concerned about all that’s happening, but we don’t have to be distressed if we live our lives obedient to God’s instructions. I know it’s challenging, but God told us not to worry. (I Peter 5:7) His Holy Spirit will give us comfort. (John 14:26) He said that a thousand shall fall at our side, and ten thousand at our right hand, but it won’t come near us. (Psalm 91:7) God’s peace extends beyond human understanding. (Philippians 4:7)   

Don’t get lost in the crumble!

        Therefore, instead of us being glued down by fear; we are to break loose. We must make sure we have on our armor (Ephesians 6:13-18) and get to work. We are God’s representatives; His ambassadors. 

We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

(II Corinthians 5:20 NIV)

Nonbelievers will be more drawn to God when they see us standing on the

Solid Rock—as the world crumbles.

Week 149: Go Stand In The Corner

Go Stand In The Corner

Fight the good fight of faith. . . I Timothy 6:12a

• Death threat predicaments. . .

• Demonic hitches. . .

• Evil ambushes. . .

Usually when we think about someone standing in the corner, we think about an unruly child on punishment. However, there are times when we should go stand in the corner; not because we’ve done anything wrong, but when we feel like

we can’t go on.

When things get really, really unbearable; try standing in the corner.

When I’m in an intolerable situation, I literally stand in a corner. I tightly wedge myself in to symbolize that I’m unable to make a move without God—I’m cornered in. When I go to the corner, I’m desperately crying out for help. I tell God that I have done everything that I know to do; I’m at the end of my rope. I let Him know that without His help nothing will be done—I’m through!

Help!

When I take “IT” (my troubles) to the corner, it lets every demon that’s assigned to me know—Heaven’s Got IT. That’s when my gears swift, and faith kicks in. I can then feel the chains falling off. The Holy Spirit’s PEACE replaces my cry of distress for praises of joy—in the corner!

I’m a living witness.

When I stand in the corner—Oh, My Lord!

Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Ephesians 6:13 (NIV)
