Because He Said So!
For we walk
by faith, not by sight: II Corinthians 5:7
• I won’t let you down…
• You can count on Me…
• Trust Me!
Generally speaking, humans
are suspicious and doubtful by nature. Why so skeptical? Why is it so hard to take
some people at their word? It’s hard because we know people can be deceitful. I
know because I was one of those who did the deceiving. God gave me a creative brain, but I was using it the wrong way. I don’t mind telling you this, because
God has delivered all of us from one thing, or another.
Before I got saved, I was known as, “Dial a Lie.” If anyone
needed a “good” sounding lie—they would call me. My lies came in a large range of
sophistication. I was so good that I had a clientele. I had turned lying into
an art form (facial expressions and arm gestures included).
After
I got saved, a “client” called.
Client: Quick, I need a lie.
Me: Just tell the truth.
Client: Hmmm! Never
thought about that!
Unlike with human beings, God is not a man
that He should lie. Nor the son of man that He should repent. If He spoke it,
it shall be done. (Numbers 23:19)
It’s comforting to know that our faith can lean on the fact
that God is the Truth, and that He will do what He said He will do. . .
because He
said so!
So
shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me
void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in
the thing whereto I sent it. (Isaiah 55:11)
