Don’t
Think Too Hard
Forever,
O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven [stands affirm as the heavens]. Your faithfulness is from generation to
generation; You have established the earth, and it stands fast. Psalm 119:89-90 (AMP)

• Hmmmmm!
• Hmmmmmmmmmmmm!
I love to Think. As a
matter of fact, thinking is one of my favorite pastime activities. That’s why
it’s almost impossible for me to be bored. I turn idle time into planning
sessions for upcoming projects. I don’t need a computer, or any other technical
device to help me plan. The only tool I need is my brain. Though, thinking can
work against me if I think on the wrong things, or if I think too hard and miss
what’s staring me in the face.
We can deactivate our faith by thinking too hard. Jesus told
us plain and simple to just believe. But, if we have to know the details of how
and when God is going to do the impossible, then we have stepped out of faith
into reasoning, logic, and “irrational” thinking. It’s hard to grasp a hold of
faith once our unbelieving thoughts get into the mix.
Keep It Simple!
If
we think too hard, we might over think and miss the basic principles in God’s
Word. Simply take God at His Word when He said:
•
We have the victory. (I Corinthians 15:57)
•
I will never leave you. (Hebrews 13:5)
•
By His stripes we are healed. (I Peter 2:24)
Instead
of over thinking the Word, we should throw our hands up in the air, and say:
Forever, O Lord, thy word is settled
in heaven. (Psalm 119:89)
Thinking is a good thing; just
don’t think too hard.
