Backstabbers—Welcome!

Backstabbers—Welcome!

§  You knew that was confidential, and you told…
§  He stole my idea…
§  She put it on facebook…

I know it might sound insane to say backstabbers—welcome. But, as long as you are on earth, they will show up in your life every now and then. They are not going away, so why not take advantage of them to better you. Here’s how:

Avoid dealing with hostile situations on a carnal level. Expose the root of the problem instead, and get blessed all at the same time. The devil is the root. When you let him use people to bait you into his evil scheme, you give too much of your power away, and you throw your blessings out the window. I know it can be difficult to look beyond people when you only see them as the ones attacking you.

The devil is counting on that because it takes the attention off him. He is the one who is secretly manipulating the puppet strings as he puts his plan into action. He has strategically studied you and he knows what will tick you off, and who he can use to tick you off. WATCH OUT! It’s a Trick. Don’t fall for it!

Keep in mind people are vicious because of the corrupt spirit in them. Does this take all the responsibility off of them because of the once popular phrase, “The devil made me do it?” Does this mean they are not accountable for their actions? That is not what I mean at all.

However, I am saying the way people treat you is not as important as how you treat them. Keep your heart pure while God deals with them. Trust me, they would rather you deal with it. But, it is not about the other person at this point. I like to see it as a test that I must pass before I can move to the next level  with God. Since backstabbers are rough and coarse like sandpaper, use them to smooth out your rough edges.

The satisfaction of using ungodly ways to put a person in their place, even if you are in the right, cannot measure up to the blessings you get from God if you respond the way He would want you to.

Let me give you a personal example that happened recently. I was stabbed in the back! This wound is so fresh that it’s still dripping. I could very easily ruin their “good” reputation. I feel like a chump for not doing just that. However, I have no idea what they were going through that caused them to behave the way they did. We are all fighting the same evil spirit, one way or another. God told me to cover them with compassion; the same way I would want to be treated. Since I chose to let God handle it, I have received so many blessings. As a matter of fact, I started making a list. What the devil meant for evil, God meant it for my good, Genesis 50:20.

I am not saying all of this is going to be easy, tests generally are not. I am not saying to let people walk all over you either. But, if you want to turn the tables on the devil, then you cannot strike back with malice, but rather, you could look at this like playing a game called, “Get the Blessing.” Rules of the game: Put your faith in God and handle things His way.  © 2013

Illegal Suggestions

Illegal Suggestions

§  The IRS wants you to explain, with proof, why…
§  You lost your job, and now you’re losing your…
§  Your x-rays show…

Are you worried about something right now? Worrying can cause mental torment. It can drive you CRAZY! To worry is like knocking your own head against a brick wall. It’s self-inflicted pain. As upsetting as life can be, the Bible says to be anxious for nothing. So, when you find yourself caught up in a whirlwind of worry, it’s a red flag: This isn’t from God!

I define worry as: an illegal suggestion from the devil. Looking at it from that perspective weakens its iron grip. I mean, should we be listening to or taking advice from the devil; the one who hates us? Or, should we listen to Almighty, All Knowing, All Loving God?  We get to choose

Most people don’t take pleasure in worrying. Therefore, in order to get control over these illegal suggestions, we have to know when our thinking has crossed over into the worry zone. What should we do with those illegal thoughts?
We should: Talk To God Immediately!

This is the time to activate our faith.  I can’t speak for you.  But, as for me, if I don’t have enough faith to raise the dead, not that I want to, I’m just making a point, but since I can’t raise the dead; this lets me know that I need to develop my faith more. And, since faith is a powerful valuable gift from God, it is in His will that I know how to properly use it to the maximum. I don’t need to pray for more faith. I need to learn how to use the measure that God has already given me.

A Faith Development Technique:

Let me share a faith development technique that I use. The old saying, “Practice makes perfect,” works for me. I practice using faith on purpose, and I use “worry” as something to practice on. Learn to use worry, not let it use you. For example, I will say, “For the next hour I’m not going to worry about anything.” If a worry slips in I'll say, “That thought is from hell, I’m trusting God.” Then I quote the Scripture, “Fear not (Paulette) I will help you.” Every time a worrisome thought creeps into my mind, I quote Isaiah 41:10. The Word of God is my Weapon!
I practice these faith sessions regularly, increasing the time to my discretion. I can’t be passive about faith development because I have an enemy working against me 24/7.
It’s ideal to do these practice sessions before trouble hits. When challenges come, we should already be armed and suited up, Ephesians 6:11. It’s harder to find your armor in the dark pits of hell. The devil can do a lot of damage while we are looking for our weapons.

Now that I’ve become more sensitive to detecting these illegal suggestions, they can’t run rapidly throughout my mind unchecked like they use to.
I have not conquered worrying altogether. But, I’m working on it with a new mindset of:  ILLEGAL SUGGESTIONS PROHIBITED! © 2013
