When is Tomorrow?

                          When is Tomorrow?
                                              Now faith is… Hebrews 11:1

   Today. . .
    Yesterday. . .
    Tomorrow. . .

When my son Harry was three years old he asked me, “When is tomorrow?” I said, “Tomorrow.” The next day he said, “Is this tomorrow?” I said, “No. This is today.” After that went on for a few days, I told him, “Tomorrow never comes!” That put a deadbolt on his brain for a couple of days.

There is no such day called tomorrow!

Yet, many of us live in tomorrow. We’re more in tomorrow than we’re in the present moment of—NOW. The devil keeps us buried in horrible “what if” thoughts facing tomorrow.
God is not going to waste His POWER solving make-believe problems.
The devil knows if we’re worried about tomorrow, we’re not in faith today. And, when we step out of faith—we step into his world of FEAR. His purpose is to engulf us in so much fear that we lose sight of God.

We worry about problems that we don’t have the grace to think about, let alone endure. The supply of grace we need for “that” problem, won’t kick in until the day of that problem. It’s like looking at the sun without wearing protective eye gear. We anticipate problems without having God’s mercy and grace to comfort and help us cope. If we would only learn how to take life one day at a time, it would take a huge slice of control out of the kingdom of darkness.

Each day God gives us a new supply of His grace and mercy. He told us we should pray for our daily bread each day, (Matthew 6:11). When the Israelites received Manna from heaven, they could only take enough for that day, not enough for next day, Exodus 16:15-21. They had to, and we have to trust God for each day’s supply.

Yes, we should make future plans. But, we shouldn’t worry about them. Don’t miss out on God’s Wonderful Working Power today by living in a day called—tomorrow.

Silently Speaking

                                    Silently Speaking

So that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men (human philosophy), but in the power of God. I Corinthians 2:5 (AMP)

• Shhh!
• Hush!
• Listen!

Quiet! Did you hear that? A lady once told me, “Keep quiet, and not only listen to what’s being said, but listen to what’s not being said. You’ll learn a lot.”

People say what they want you to hear, but if you use your faith to listen with your inner ear; you might hear what they’re not telling you. Hidden motives, selfish agendas, insecurities, and fears—YELL OUT in the quietness of silence. Is this an invasion of a person’s privacy? Hmmm! Maybe.

Although, when you listen to a person’s silence, it doesn’t always detect negativity. Strength can be heard in their silence. A strong confident person doesn’t always have to have the last word. Intelligence knows some things don’t credit a verbal response. A peacemaker knows when silence is golden. And, the silence of the meek is restrained POWER.

God is silently speaking to us all the time. The more we pay attention, the more we hear. Sometimes He speaks through nature. Sometimes He speaks through circumstances and situations. And, sometimes God even speaks through the silence of others.
                                                     Are You Listening?

Power Tools

                                        Power Tools
faith which worketh by love. Galatians 5:6
• Belt sander. . .
• Circular saw. . .
• Grinding machine. . .

In the natural world, a power tool is a mechanical device that operates when it’s initiated by an external power source. Once the connection is made, energy is generated, and the tool is able to complete its purpose.

There are power tools in the spiritual world too. Love is a power tool. As a matter of fact, love is the master power tool because without it, our faith doesn’t work (Galatians 5:6).  Even though love is the number one tool, there are other important tools. Generosity, forgiveness, humility, gratefulness, and any other attributes that will show godly character are all valuable tools. We are to be conformed into His image (Romans 8:29).

When power tools in the natural are not used properly, they can cause serious damage. Spiritual tools are no different. For example, too often we throw the word love around frivolously. We claim to love when we really don’t. And, sometimes we misuse it because we don’t have a true concept of its meaning. Love equals a corresponding action. When you see people suffering or in need, do you look for ways in which you can help? God works through people. We are blessed to be a blessing. We all have something to contribute. That’s just how the world operates.

Using our power tools correctly will improve the quality of our lives, and the lives of those around us. They will smooth rough edges, cut through stony hearts, grind up wrong motives, and pulverize nasty attitudes.
Are Your Power Tools in Good Working Order?
