Worry Bearer
Have faith in God. Mark 11:22
• Fear not. . .
• Be not afraid. .
.
• I will strengthen
you…
Jesus
paid a huge price so we wouldn’t have to live a life of worry. God did not make
our bodies strong enough to handle overloads of anxiety. He didn’t need to
because He gave us His Holy Spirit; our Worry Bearer. He said to bring Him
all our burdens (Matthew 11:28-30).
The
world uses our phobias as a means to control. Just look at the commercials on television.
The media exploits our worries and fears for profitable gain. The nightly news is
laden with all the disasters and criminal activities that took place that day. And,
if by chance we fell asleep and didn’t watch it, don’t worry. While we are
drinking our morning coffee, the news will give us an overview of all the grim
happenings.
Before
we get into any discussions and debates about the troubles in the world, take
it straight to God, and receive strength from His Word. For instance, Isaiah
41:10 is a good place to start. If we start talking about the troubles before
we pray, our speech might be fear driven.
The
problems that we are facing in the world, need our prayers not our fears. The amount
of time we spend worrying, is time taken away from praying. We are on earth to
spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. People in the world will note how we
react to problems. Our faith in God is the doorway to our witness. When they
see our non-typical reactions to disturbing things, just out of pure curiosity will
make them want to know: Why? That’s when we can tell them about our: Worry Bearer.
