Hopefully
as Christians, our ID can be seen before we say a word. The people we encounter
every day should be able to tell there’s something different about us. If they
can’t…well, then there might be a problem.
When we take on the ID of a Christian, we are
set apart from the world. In John 17:14 it says that we are in this world, but
not a part of it. The apostle Paul said in Ephesians 5:1 that we should be
imitators of God. Deuteronomy 14:2 says we are a peculiar people. Matthew 5:17 tells
us that we are the light of the world. With all that said, there’s no way we can
blend in and be unnoticed. If God had
wanted us to go unnoticed, He would not have put a Bright Shining Light inside us.
Hmmm!
Our ID can be obviously
seen in some situations more than others. For example, when we are faced with
fear, the first thing we do is Pray. We get our Peace and Comfort from God,
Luke 12:7. Our ID is seen when we forgive because we know vengeance belongs to
the Lord, Romans 12:19. When trouble strikes, we take
it to God, I Peter 5:7. When we are faced with temptation, we pray and receive
strength from God, Psalm 27.
God made us the way He did so the world can
see and inquire what
makes us so
different. Therefore, we must be conscious of the fact that we
are God’s Representatives
on earth.
May I
see your ID please?
