This World Needs More Salt!
That
the communication of thy faith may
become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in
Christ Jesus.
Philemon 1:6
• Too bland. . .
• Did you forget to put salt on it?
• Pass the salt!
Even though I no longer eat meat, I can still remember how disgustingly
it tasted without salt. It was the salt that turned a bland slab of flesh into
a succulent delectable mouth-watering celebration.
We
can view this same principle spiritually. It says in Matthew 5:13 that we [Christians],
are the salt of the world. This tells us that we are the seasoning that the
world needs. If we apply enough salt, we can make the world thirsty for God,
the Living Water.
Think
about how hopeless things would be without the influence of Christians. We are
making a difference. Sometimes we know it, but most of the time we probably don’t.
When we go about our normal day, we’re dropping grains of salt.
The
Scripture goes further and says that salt without its flavor is worthless. Therefore,
as ambassadors of God, it’s our job to stay fresh and on top of the things that
concern God. A smidgeon of Holy Ghost Salt, here and there, will go a long way.
The components, of this special salt,
contain such elements as: Faith, Prayer, and Love.
Here are some ways we Sprinkle Salt
onto this World.
Our Faith in God
Offers Possibilities. The world needs to see that our belief in God far exceeds
man’s intellect and capabilities. What man thinks is impossible—is possible
with God (Luke 18:27). A pinch of Faith Salt will Perk things up.
Our
Prayers Opens and Closes Doors. The Word says in James 5:16b that the effectual
fervent prayers of the righteous availeth much. The world needs to see that we
have a direct line of communication to Almighty God. We depend on the One Who
can actually change a situation around. A dash of Prayer Salt will Alter a hopeless situation.
Our
Love Walk is an Intriguing Mystery. In a cold heartless world, we bring the warmth
of God’s Love. The Word says to overcome evil with good, (Romans 12:21). This
is an unfamiliar concept for a world who believes heavily in retaliation. A morsel
of Love Salt will add Flavor to bitter,
sour circumstances.
So, Please Pass the Salt!
