GOT-CHA!!!
Above all, taking the shield
of faith, wherewith ye shall be able
to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked, Ephesians 6:16.
• Police pulling you over…
• The common cold…
• A swatted fly…
In
the classic movie The Wizard of Oz,
Dorothy was warned not to take off the ruby slippers, or else she would be at
the mercy of the wicked witch. Although the movie is make-believe, there’s a real
life message that can be applied to our lives.
As Christians, we are protected from the wicked
devil. Our protection is not tangible like the ruby slippers; we have an invisible
spiritual protection from God. The Secret Place is our Protective Shield. We are
covered under the Shadow and Wings of the Almighty, where no foe can withstand,
Psalm 91:1-4 (Amp paraphrased).
IN THIS PLACE, GOD GUARANTEES that no
matter how bad things get, He’s holding our hand, Isaiah 41:13. In the day of
trouble, He will hide us in His shelter, Psalm 2:5. Yes, we will have
tribulation, but not to worry because He has overcome the world, John 16:33. No
weapon formed against us shall prosper, Isaiah 54:17. He said He will never
leave us nor forsake us, Hebrews 13:5. As
you can see, we are well protected in the Secret Place!
HOWEVER, the adversary knows he can’t
go up against the immeasurable POWER
that’s under the WINGS of ALMIGHTY GOD, so his job is to lure us out. His
approach can be very cunning at times. He can be as subtle as an innocent breeze
passing by with a hint of freshly baked bread. Just enough enticement to get us
to take a step outside our COVERING to get a better whiff. Uh-oh!
GOT-CHA!!!
So what exactly does this enticing aroma
represent? It represents the power of SUGGESTION! The devil wants to control our thoughts with his lies. Once he’s in
our head, we are more susceptible to the destructive plan he has for our lives.
When we are going through a PERSONAL STORM, we are the most vulnerable to be
deceived by fear, worry, doubt, etc. The more we believe the lies, the more we lose
faith in God’s promises. The devil knows without faith we cannot please God,
Hebrews 11:6.
If you are tormented, full of agony, and fear right now, you probably unintentionally stepped out from under God’s
Protective Wings of Peace.
Guard your mind and thoughts from the devil’s lies, and focus on the
promises of God.
There is PEACE, LOVE, COMFORT, and POWER; in the
PRESENCE
OF GOD.
