Week 103: Armed!

                                               Armed!
Withstand him; be firm in faithI Peter 5:9 (AMP)
• Fortress . . .
• Refuge . . .
• The Word of God . . .

This writing is called Armed, because as Christians, we are armed with the Word of God—and the Word is a Mighty Force against principalities.

When faith-believing Christians come together to pray on one accord, Heaven moves (II Chronicles 7:14). In Leviticus 26:8, it says that five can chase a hundred, and a hundred can put ten thousand to flight. It says in Matthew 18:20, “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

Our Faith Attached to God’s Power—Oh, My Goodness!

Sometimes we don’t realize how much power we have available to us. I’m reminded of Elisha when he prayed that the Lord would open his servant’s eyes that he might see all that was with them (II Kings 6:17).

By faith, we have to know that when we go forth in the name of Jesus, Heaven is backing us. That’s all the confidence we need to walk boldly. If God is for us, who can come against us? (Romans 8:31)

With all this going for us, the devil will still test our authority in Christ. He wants to see if we really believe what we stand for, or are we mouthing beautiful, eloquent, yet empty faithless threats. Don’t start waving an unloaded gun around. (See Book 1- writing #38: Shooting Lessons.)

When the enemy draws his weapon—we’re Armed. The moment is intense, but our obedience in God’s Word qualifies us to stand firmly. The Holy Spirit will go to battle for us. All we have to do is continue to stand in faith (II Chronicles 20:17).

The battle is heating up—STAND!
Feel like giving up—STAND!
Terrified—STAND!
Barely holding on—STAND!
            You’re Armed—so STAND!
