The Ventriloquist
Beloved, do not put faith in every spirit. . . I John 4:1 (AMP)
• Con Artist. . .
• Trickster. . .
• Charlatan. . .
We have to pray for discernment because the devil is
very good at making himself sound like truth (II Corinthians 11:14). All he
needs is a persuasive looking mannequin that he can put voice to.
It’s
not hard to catch one of his shows.
They are conveniently playing everywhere around the world. He does quite a few performances
in the political arena, in the food industry, in courtrooms, in the medical
field, in churches, and in our personal lives. In other words, he has taken his
act on the road.
How can
we spot one of the devil’s performances?
Jesus
said that He is the light of the world, and if we walk with Him we will not be
in darkness (John 8:12). In John 8:32 Jesus continues to says, “We shall know
the truth and the truth shall make us free.”
We
have to spend time in God’s Presence in order for our relationship with Him to
be keen enough to detect impostors. Jesus said that His sheep hear His Voice,
and follow Him (John 10:27-28). We have to be rooted and grounded in the Word
of God, or we might become one of, or tricked by one of, the devil’s mannequins.
