Let God Take the
Lead!
Now the just shall live by faith…
Hebrews
10:38
• Maybe I should do
this???
• Maybe I should
do that???
• Maybe I
shouldn’t???
It
makes sense to let the sighted one take the lead. Let God do the SEEING, and we
do the trusting. Proverbs 3:6 says that He will direct our path.
Every day we are faced with choices and decisions.
Most of these choices and decisions are usually not life altering like should I
wear the blue or black suit? Should I order the fried chicken, or the roasted
duck dinner?
However,
there are those times when we are faced with choices that will produce more
significant outcomes. The aftermath of these decisions will be felt for years to
come. I’ve made some of those life altering decisions that I lived to regret.
It was ludicrous for me to take the steering wheel when I had no idea where I
was going. Nevertheless, I learned a very valuable lesson that I will never
forget:
Let God Take the Lead!
But,
how do we know which way to go when the right path is uncertain? Which path
should we take when God is silent? We have to: stop, pray, and then walk the path
by faith. Which path? The one we feel is right. This is how He teaches us to
sense His leading. How can a baby learn to walk if they’re always carried?
Pray
and tell God that you are going down this “certain” road until you get a
leading from Him. Let Him know to please, please redirect you if you are headed
in the wrong direction. If you are opened and flexible to changing your route,
you’ll hear Him better. However, if you are stoned walled about your own
notions, you probably won’t listen.
At
the age I am now, I don’t have time to make a big life altering mistake. I want
to enjoy the days I have left, not spend them trying to dig myself out of some
hole that I could have avoided if only I had let God take the lead.
